Local MP Nick Harvey will be opening a new scheme in Boutport Street,
Barnstaple on Friday 13 June 2003 at 12:30pm.
The scheme, developed by Signpost Care Partnerships Ltd, comprises
8 shared bedrooms, an office and communal areas together with a
training flat all of which will be leased to Stonham Housing Association.
The scheme is to provide housing and support for young adults in
need of a safe and secure home where they will be able to gain skills
in living independently.
The property was originally built in 1870 as a house for the local
Baptist Minister. Over recent years it has been used as offices
and as a hostel for homeless people. It has cost £575,000
to develop, with funding provided by the Housing Corporation, and
North Devon District Council.
